We provide a wide range of support, activities and fun

When you and your family come along to the Hayle Children’s Centre this is who you will meet;

 

Kirsty Jones - Children’s Centre Development Manager

Kirsty is responsible for the smooth running of the Children’s Centre and for ensuring that the family activities which are delivered meet your needs. She is the lady to talk to if you have any activity ideas or suggestions.

 

Gill Groves and Ruth Munday - Receptionist

Gill and Ruth are the Centre’s part time receptionists. They will be the people who answer the phone when you call the Centre and will provide a big smile when you and your family come and visit us.

 

Sue Scammell – Children’s Centre Administrator

Sue supports Kirsty and the whole team to make sure that everything is in place to make the Centre run smoothly.

 

Under recruitment - Community Development Worker – Part Time This role holder ensures that families and children are involved in the development of all of the family activities and services which are provided at the Children’s Centre.

 

Lin While - Children’s Centre Teacher

Lin works with local pre-schools and nursery setting to ensure that the quality of early education to all children living locally is of a high standard.

 

Nina Brown and Janet Houghton - Health Support Workers

Nina and Janet are likely to be the first Children’s Centre team members that you meet as they visit all pregnant mothers and new parents to offer information about the services available from the Centre. They provide advice on breast feeding, smoking cessation, diet and nutrition, weaning, and run a number of groups including First Friends (For more information check out ‘What’s On’ and 'Family Activities')

  

Mell Chope – Owen, Stacey Blackmore and Sarah Correnti, - Play Supervisors

Mell, Stacey and Sarah run the Tiny Treasures crèche at the Centre and co-ordinate all of family play activities which we provide. (For more information check out ‘What’s On’ and 'Family Activities')

  

Sarah Cope and Nicola Penrose - Toy Library Assistants

Sarah and Nicola are responsible for the Hayle Toy Library and its smooth running. (For more information check out ‘What’s On’ and 'Family Activities')

 

Jackie Penberthy - Family Support Worker

Jackie provides individual packages Family Support to families that require additional help through home visiting and group work where appropriate.

 

Stefan Kraspazek – Caretaker

Stefan makes sure that the Centre is clean and tidy and that it is safe for all families to use by undertaking general maintenance work when needed.

 

Penwith Family Services team members

In addition to the team based at Hayle Children’s Centre, there are a wide range of workers that work across the whole of Penwith that can offer support, information and advice on;

 

  • The range of childcare options available to your family locally
  • Childminding
  • Children with Special or additional needs and the support available to your family and child
  • Volunteering opportunities at the Children’s Centre
  • Training and learning opportunities available locally
  • Extended services available to your family before and after school and during holiday times, for children up to the age of 13
  • Speech and Language Therapy
